“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” (Jeremiah 1:4-5)
God’s sovereignty has guided our temporary Interim Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Leah Saldana, in her daily walk with the Lord. From an early age, God set her apart from most of the people around her, leading her away from the captivity of the world to the freedom found only in Him… a freedom she frequently shares with others.
Her love for the redeeming power of Jesus Christ drives her passion for intentionally connecting people to the transforming love of Jesus. Leah loves to connect that love and the hope that comes from a relationship with Christ, wherever it may be. Whether it is in the check-out line at the grocery store… to the children she speaks with at Parkside, she is never without an encouraging word about what faith in Christ can accomplish.
Her devotion to children’s ministry started long before her tenure at Parkside, teaching her children Mark, Kaylee, Stradd and Connor, in the “way they should go” and nurturing them with the love of Christ. Kaylee and her husband Alex have two young boys whom Leah treasures in her role as “grandma” and watching them grow in the ways of the Lord.
She has spent many years as a volunteer in Christian ministries, including youth groups, missions to Mexico, Samaritans Purse and leading women’s ministry groups and Bible studies. Leah has been serving Parkside as an intern for Children’s Ministry for the past year and will graduate from Fresno Pacific University this June with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management. Leah and her husband Paul constantly look forward to what God will do in their lives and the lives of others.
Leah’s motivation in Children’s Ministry and in life can best be summed up in Romans 11:36 “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen”
